Kerri Wilson

Kerri Kathleen Wilson, 60, of Brewster, Washington, died peacefully at home on Monday, August 3, 2026. She was born June 6, 1966, in Prosser, Washington, to Elzie and Betty Mathews. Kerri spent her childhood years fishing, camping and spending time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In 1977, to help a young church, the family made a big move to Brewster Washington. Kerri was baptized on June 6, 1978, by Bro. Lester Clevenger, into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. She was an example of faithfulness and kindness. She cared for the sick, spent the first nights with many newborns, and was first on the list to bring in food. Kerri grew up in a family of musicians and loved singing. Her voice was a gift. It lifted the spirit and comforted many. She sang at funerals and weddings, but her greatest joy was singing with the brethren. Kerri was outgoing and made friends easily. She was a Brewster FFA officer and on the livestock judging team. Kerri performed in the State Choir and graduated from Brewster High School in 1984. Kerri got her Associate’s degree and was dietary manager for Harmony House in Brewster until she got married. Kerri married the love of her life, Jord Wilson on December 12, 1992, in Brewster. Kerri and Jord often worked as a team. Their first job together was managing Pateros Garden Apartments. While in Oklahoma, Kerri managed apartments and would pick Jord up between class to repaint empty apartments. In 2010, Kerri started as clerk for the City of Pateros and in 2014, Jord became Public Works Supervisor. As a team they worked for five mayors and helped administer the city recovery following the Carlton Complex Fire of 2014. Kerri annually organized the Christmas in the City event making sure that all the kids had gifts and the community had her home-made chili. Family, her husband, children, and grandchildren, were always the focus of her life. She was a loving mother who taught her children integrity, honesty, kindness and to love the Lord. She didn’t miss a ball game and was usually the team mom – coordinating snacks, keeping score, and tending bruises. She volunteered on the booster club, saw that the band had cookies for the fundraiser, and raised money for team uniforms. She adored her five grandchildren, checking in daily with FaceTime and attending their events. Kerri was a cook and loved to feed people. When the family gathered she was always in the kitchen. Her table was special, comforting, and fun. She loved to make tacos or breakfast for her brothers and lasagna or BBQ when feeding the Wilson Clan. There was always room for family, friends, and extras at her table. Kerri loved to travel. As a kid her family traveled amongst the brethren and to church camps, usually pitching a tent or staying in a camper along the way. Later, she traveled on cruises and tours with her grandmother, but her favorite travels were with her husband, kids and grandchildren. Over the years she planned family trips to Hawaii, the Oregon Coast and Glacier National Park. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Betty Mathews; son, Galen Llyonal Wilson; sister-in-law Darcie Bellew; two brothers-in-law: Joshua Wilson and Dennis Martin; and Issac Foote, whom she loved as a son. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jord; and their two children, Creston and wife, Jacquelyn Wilson of Lexington, Oklahoma; and Katarina and husband, Lance Evans of Brewster, Washington; and five grandchildren: Maverick, Felicity, and Cora Wilson and Wade and Thea Evans. She is survived by three siblings: Jim Johnson and wife Terri of Spokane, Richard Mathews and wife, Beth of Brewster, and sister, Barb Mathews of Idaho; sister-in-law, Christine Bowman of Brewster; Mom and Dad Wilson, Joyce and Lionel of Pateros; and 17 brothers and sisters-in-law; and many, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
