    Ted R Carter

    December 7, 1938 - October 20, 2017

    Ted Randall Carter, age 78, of Chelan Wa. Passed away October 20th 2017 in his home in Chelan Wa. surrounded by his family. Ted was born December 7th 1938 to John Font Carter and Grace Mae Carter in Whitley City Kentucky. Ted followed in his family’s footsteps by enlisting in the navy right out of school. After his leave from the navy in 1962 him and several of his longtime friends and best friend Randall Nichols made the trip to Washington to start working in the fruit industry. In the same year he met the love of his life Sandra DeLuca whom he moved to Seattle with and married the following year on July 9th 1963 and soon moved back to Chelan WA.. Soon after Ted began his successful career as a Union carpenter and a father with the birth of their first son Todd. Their second son Brad whom passed at 8 weeks was born in 1965. Their third son Brent was born in 1966. Teds career as a union carpenter was long and very successful, working on the majority of the hydroelectric dams along the Colombia including the construction of the grand coulee dam, the most recent with GG Richardson’s building cold storage units for the fruit industry. Retiring happily at the age of 62 after 37 years as a carpenter. Ted enjoyed many years hunting and fishing with his sons. He loved playing pool at his local spot Senior Frogs and spent many hours with his friends at the Eagles club and the Apple cup café., he also truly loved being outside in his yard taking care of his tomatoes, fruit trees and sitting in his lawn chair. Ted is preceded in death by his Father John Font Carter: mother Grace Mae Carter: Brother Jack joseph Carter: sister Judy Lee Hammock. He is also preceded in death by his infant son Brad Carter. He is survived by his Wife Sandra L. Carter of Chelan WA: Son Todd R. Carter(Valaree) of East Wenatchee WA. : Brent R. Carter(Karye)of Everett WA.: he is also survived by his siblings Brother John Carter Jr of Bowling Green KY.: sister Joyce Marcum : Sister Barbara Carter Of Whitley city KY: Sister Phyllis Strunk of Sydney Oh: he is survived by his grandsons Paul, Brad, and Nick . He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren P.J. and Ella along with many Nieces and Nephews. A special thanks to the following for all of their help and Support through the years The staff at the Apple Cup especially his favorite waitress Rockett Lansphere Also Dr. Clarke {Urologist} and Dr. Waszkewitz and his staff,Stephanie Mitchell who could always make him smile { Hospice) and all the Hospice and homehealth staff including Karen Bachelor. All whom made teds last few month comfortable. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 P.M. on the top floor of The Eagles in Chelan Wa.
