Maymie Wise Cozart

Maymie Wise Cozart passed away peacefully on August 25, 2015 at Starr Retirement Home in Chelan, WA. She was a lifelong area resident. Maymie was born in Union Valley to early settlers Fred and Edith Wise. The family later moved to Manson, WA. Maymie married Harold Cozart of Entiat in 1937. They were blessed with two daughters, Janice in 1939 and Carolyn 5 years later. Maymie was a member of the Chelan Methodist Church and a charter member of the Ladies Division of the Chelan Golf Club. Maymie enjoyed gardening and all of God’s gifts, and often created interesting pieces of art from the bounties of nature. Her favorite hobby was creating African Trade Beads which she strung into many impressive necklaces. Maymie and Harold also enjoyed several trips to other countries with good friends. She was happiest surrounded by her family who feel blessed to have been with her during her long and healthy life. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Carolyn Cozart Branom, son-in-law Steve Branom, brothers Les, John and Nyle Wise, sisters Alta Grawel, Laura Bellew, Raynell Ott, and Bertha Cozart. Surviving Maymie are Janice Cozart McClendon of Chelan, loving (97 year old) sister Edna Anderson of Leavenworth , grandchildren Mark McClendon of Entiat, Seri McClendon and husband Matt of Pasadena, CA., Stacey Branom of Seattle and Sara Chance Branom of Maple Valley, Wa.. Surviving great grandchildren include Jesse McClendon, Ben, Madeliene and Zachery Chance, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hospice and her caregivers at Starr Retirement Home for their loving care of mother. Memorials can be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Private burial services are planned.
