Chris’ tribute to his beloved wife Lynda Tributes are hard. The more you love the one you’re describing, the more difficult the task. You choose your words carefully so that the message you want is truly given. A word which describes Lynda is Elegant. Elegant things are beautifully complex, they represent the perfect design combining simplicity of design and function. An elegant design is actually the most complex design. Lynda represents ELEGANCE. Another is Integrity. Integrity is strong, powerful and durable in action. A successful design ensures the integrity of it’s subject. People have integrity when their words are backed by truth, their words equal their actions, they can be counted on, they are gracious, they protect and care about their commitments. Lynda represents INTEGRITY. Another is character. People with character help and support others without prejudice. They are listeners appreciative of others' thoughts and opinions. They practice sympathy and empathy. They are unselfish givers, they are caring and trustworthy. Lynda represents CHARACTER. The last word is spiritual. Lynda believes in the spirit in each of us and that we give our spirit to others throughout our lives. Lynda’s spirituality is represented in elegance, integrity and character. Lynda gives her spirit to all of those she comes in contact with; childhood friends, playmates, classmates and teammates. Lynda has influenced the lives of tens of thousands. She was UPS’s Director of Human Resources for the three state areas of Idaho, Washington and Alaska. Imagine how many people she touched with her spirit in that capacity. After retiring from UPS, she then drove bus for the City of Kent’s Senior Center, taking senior citizens to local activities as well as on day tours throughout the state. As a UPS Store owner she demonstrated work ethic and customer service to fellow store owners, customers and most importantly, to her young employees maturing to adulthood. Many of you know the amazing impact Lynda’s spirit has made on Chelan through her efforts to bring mind and body health to the community she loves. As wife and husband Lynda and I have grown through each other. She helped me grow from late childhood, which extended well into my thirties. We've been a great team as we’ve grown together becoming caring, compassionate adults. I am so proud to be Lynda’s husband. I don’t know most of you well, but there’s a part of your spirit that I do know. This is the part where you carry Lynda’s contribution to your life. The process of passing on your spirit is true eternal life. Lynda is SPIRITUAL. “The spirit in me is the spirit in you, together we are one.” Namaste’ Lynda read these words today, (9/9/21) and said they were “beautiful, but those are hard words to live up to”. I replied, “no Lynda, those words represent you, you don't have to live up to them, you are them”.
